There’s nothing better than celebrating Christmas in a hometown setting, gathering with friends and family and participating in the traditions that make the holidays special.
To get you in that festive mood, the Belton Area Museum Association, the Belton Center for the Arts, the Belton Alliance, and the City of Belton cordially invite you to enjoy a variety of Christmas activities in Historic Belton, SC, on Saturday, December 4, 2021.
Prior to the parade, visit the BCA to purchase one of a kind gifts from over 30 vendors. Then, step across the street to the depot and marvel at the Natives and Immigrants exhibit in the museum’s North End Gallery.
By 3:30 pm, while practicing social distancing, you and your family are encouraged to line up along Main Street to view the annual Christmas Parade. Applications for entries are available now and are still being taken at City Hall.
At 5:00 PM, City of Belton representatives will welcome the crowd as all gather round the 25 foot tall live decorated Christmas tree. Mayor Eleanor Dorn accompanied by Belton’s City Council and City Administrator will officially begin the Christmas season with the lighting of the Christmas tree.
The beautiful voices of a children’s choir will share familiar melodies of the Christmas season. Everyone is encouraged to sing along.
Children can write letters to Santa and post them in the big red mailbox throughout the afternoon’s festivities.
And a special celebration will be held as the second class of inductees into the Belton Hall of Fame will be recognized for their contributions to the community.
As nighttime falls, the city will be bathed in Christmas lights emanating from the trees on the square and from decorations on the lamp posts and historic buildings. A picture-postcard view of this Christmas scene is a must-see for visitors.
Everyone is invited for these community activities that will help make new holiday memories and allow you to share the Christmas spirit with family, friends and loved ones.
